Making your own wedding cake

Over at DIY Bride  they are making the month of May "cake month".  Right now they are having a debate on whether boxed mix or from scratch recipe would be the best way to go.  If you are determined to make your own wedding cake go to their website; they have many helpful tips on this subject.  Let me know how everything turns out.

Hi Mrs. C; I have an embarassing problem.  After a couple of drinks my grandpa becomes touchy, feely.  I am worried that he will try to get close to my bridesmaids.  What should i do?

Yikes!  The best solution would be to team up with your mom and/or dad and have a very serious chat on how this behavior is not and will not be acceptable.  Let your maids in on the situation and also tell the bartender that grandpa cannot have more than two drinks.

Hi Mrs. C;  Where did candy-coated almonds come from, why do we give them as favors?

 

The candy-coated almonds have long been a traditional wedding favor for couples in Italian, Greek or Middle-East families.  Usually the favors were given in groups of three or five.  Three almonds symbolize the bride, groom and their future baby or Jesus Christ, while five almonds represent:  happiness, long life, health, fertility and good fortune for the couple.
